Privacy Policy

www.seemysurgeon.com  |  Last updated 24 September 2026

This is a short privacy notice for the See My Surgeon website. It explains what information we collect when you visit the website or contact us, and what we do with it.

1. Who we are

See My Surgeon is operated by See My Surgeon Ltd, the private practice website of Mr Peter Asaad, Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon.

For privacy enquiries, contact: info@seemysurgeon.com.

2. What information we collect

  • If you contact us through the website, by email or by telephone, we may receive your name, contact details and the information you choose to include in your enquiry.
  • For an initial medicolegal enquiry, we may receive the solicitor’s or agency’s contact details and a brief outline of the case so that we can decide whether the instruction is within Mr Asaad’s expertise and availability.
  • The website may also collect basic technical information and use cookies, depending on your cookie choices.

3. How we use your information

We use information you provide to respond to your enquiry, decide whether we can help, communicate with you, and administer the website and practice. We do not use enquiry details for marketing unless you have specifically agreed to this.

Our lawful basis will usually be taking steps at your request before providing a service and/or our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running the practice. If you choose to include health information, we use it only as needed to deal with the enquiry and as permitted by data protection law.

Formal private healthcare and formal medicolegal instructions involve more detailed records and are handled under the relevant hospital, clinical or medicolegal arrangements at that stage.

4. Who we may share information with

We may share information only where reasonably necessary, for example with our authorised secretary or administrative support, website/email service providers, or a hospital or other provider involved in dealing with your enquiry. If you follow a link to an external booking service such as Nuffield Health, that provider’s own privacy notice applies to information you give them.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies

The website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential website functions and may use optional analytics or similar cookies. Where consent is required, these are used only if you choose to allow them. You can manage your choices through the website’s cookie banner or settings.

6. How long we keep information

We keep routine website enquiries only for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry, any follow-up and relevant legal or professional requirements. If information later becomes part of a patient record or a formal medicolegal file, it is then kept under the record-keeping arrangements that apply to that work.

7. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, correct it, ask for it to be deleted or restricted, or object to how it is used. To make a request, email info@seemysurgeon.com.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this notice if the website or the way we handle enquiries changes. The latest version will always be published on this page.
